Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized care plans across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), understanding of medical terminology, and knowledge of physiology and anatomy will be essential in delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence. Implement and modify individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Support patients across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and acute care environments. Utilize your knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to accurately document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams. Contribute to the development and execution of treatment strategies for diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals recovering from injury or illness. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques to enhance recovery at home or in outpatient settings. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols while delivering compassionate patient-centered care. Experience Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities or inpatient hospital settings is highly preferred. Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans within home health or outpatient clinics is advantageous. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures, outpatient therapy services, and clinical environments enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs. Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatrics, occupational health principles, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a positive attitude toward patient care. Previous experience in acute care or inpatient settings will help you excel in fast-paced environments requiring adaptability and professionalism.
