New Rochelle, NY Job Details Full-time $35 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Skilled nursing facility experience Inpatient Working with individuals with disabilities Outpatient COTA Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support patients across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role involves assisting with therapy plans designed to improve patient independence and quality of life, utilizing a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. The COTA will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver personalized care tailored to diverse patient needs, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals recovering from acute or chronic conditions. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and functional mobility Implement and modify care plans under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists Support patient rehabilitation in various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits Aid in therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, coordination, and motor skills Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and strategies to maintain progress outside of therapy sessions Ensure safety protocols are followed during all patient interactions and therapy activities Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment in compliance with healthcare standards Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics Familiarity with care plans for acute care, inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, and home health settings Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams in clinics or hospital environments Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient needs Knowledge of occupational health principles and safety procedures during therapy sessions Prior experience in medical imaging or related fields is a plus but not required Effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to adapt therapy techniques based on individual patient conditions and progress levels
