Job Description
Instructional Faculty & Program Coordinator, Occupational Therapy Assistant Clark State College Springfield, Ohio A full-time, 9-month, instructional faculty position is available to start in August 2026. This position requires particular expertise in pedagogical and accreditation methods in Occupational Therapy Assistant programming. This position requires a high level of independent judgment and decision-making, subject to periodic review by the Dean. Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Master's degree preferred or required depending on institutional policy), required. Primary duties include responsibilities in providing leadership, administration, and oversight for a developing Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program in Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) candidacy status. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the organization, administration, continuous evaluation, planning, development, and overall effectiveness of the OTA program. Responsibilities also include curriculum development and delivery, accreditation compliance, faculty supervision, budget management, student advising, and the establishment and maintenance of clinical fieldwork partnerships. Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Master's degree preferred or required depending on institutional policy), required. Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with appropriate educational preparation and experience consistent with ACOTE Standards. Current NBCOT certification (OTR or COTA). Demonstrated knowledge of ACOTE Standards, accreditation processes, and OTA education. Minimum of three (3) years of occupational therapy practice experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a faculty member in an OTA or OT program. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Major responsibilities are in the areas of Teaching/Learning, Professional Growth, and Service to the College and Community. Faculty are expected to be progressive in instructional strategies and in their discipline; to be actively involved in the governance of the College and participate in college-wide initiatives; to plan future directions for their programs and the College as a whole; and to be collegial in their relationships with colleagues, staff, and students. Each faculty member is directly responsible to a departmental/divisional administrator. Professional Growth As a professional educator, the faculty member shall continue to grow and develop as an educator and as a member of his/her profession through formal and/or informal activities which increase knowledge and enhance teaching ability. Service to the College and Community As a member of a learning community, faculty members are expected to contribute to the life of the College. Their activities advance the goals and image of one's program, division, and the College as a whole.
All faculty are required to:
Participate in scheduled institutional meetings and activities. Participate in program and College accreditation, curriculum development, and program assessment. Assist in the formulation of division objectives and goals. Serve on at least one faculty or All-College Committee annually (after the first year of hire). Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to student and institutional need. Participate in student and/or community activities that foster good will and promote the mission of the College. Assist in the articulation of courses and programs with secondary and post- secondary institutions. Maintain collegial relationships with other college personnel. In short, faculty members' jobs are varied, and change based on the individual needs of each program.
