Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract opportunity working alongside school professionals serving students in need of occupational therapy assistance. This role is perfect for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) eager to collaborate with educators and healthcare staff to create supportive, inclusive environments for student success. The assignment runs from August 6, 2026, through May 20, 2027, offering a consistent, part-time schedule of 24 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
Active COTA certification with licensure in Ohio Previous experience in school settings, collaborating closely with Special Education teams Strong background in delivering healthcare-related occupational therapy, particularly with pediatric or adolescent populations Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement therapeutic interventions under the guidance of an occupational therapist Excellent communication and documentation skills Compassionate approach, fostering trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services to students in accordance with IEPs Support children's participation in classroom and school activities through customized strategies and interventions Assist the occupational therapist with assessments, treatment planning, and progress tracking Maintain accurate records and produce clear documentation of therapy sessions and outcomes Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to integrate therapy recommendations into daily routines Educate students, families, and staff on adaptive strategies, equipment use, and occupational therapy goals This contract role lets you contribute meaningfully to students' growth while maintaining work-life balance with a part-time schedule.
