Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized care plans across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety Support the implementation of individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring goals are met efficiently Provide therapy interventions in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits Monitor patient progress by documenting responses to therapy activities and communicating updates to supervising therapists Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures to support ongoing recovery at home or in community settings Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes Maintain accurate medical records using medical terminology and adhere to healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and patients in acute or inpatient settings Skilled in assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs Prior experience in home health, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or hospital environments preferred Strong patient care skills with the ability to motivate and support individuals through their recovery process Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and educating patients' families Join us if you're passionate about providing compassionate patient care while advancing your career in occupational therapy!
