Job Information Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt A Brief Overview The clinical instructor and/or preceptor responsibility and accountability is to provide guidance and mentorship to student clinicians as assigned by the manager. The preceptor will demonstrate competency in the department by following policies and procedures. They will maintain clinical expertise by attending workshops, seminars, and in-services related to the needs of the department. Clinical Instructors participates actively in clinical education activities, including orientation of new employees and teaching students in the area of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapists Assistance, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapists Assistances or Speech-Language Pathologists. Education Qualifications Maintain CEUs that are required for license and registration. Maintain annual preceptor competency. Required Experience Qualifications 9 months Stormont Vail Health experience and meet the years of experience based on the discipline's professional by-laws; manager's discretion. Required Have successfully completed preceptor course training required by the accredited program the student is attending. Required Skills and Abilities Ability to provide timely and constructive feedback to students. (Required proficiency) Serves as a role model for professional performance and behavior. (Required proficiency) Ability to organize work and establish priorities. (Required proficiency) Strong attention to detail. (Required proficiency) Ability to be patient and understanding with a student/learner. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Occupational Therapist Assistant- KSBHA Required Basic Life Support
- BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
