This flexible position allows you to bring your expertise to diverse clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your energetic approach and compassionate care will empower geriatric patients—to achieve their therapy goals and improve their quality of life. Duties Implement individualized care plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring treatment goals are met effectively. Support patients across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Apply your knowledge of physiology and anatomy to help evaluate patient progress and modify interventions accordingly. Use your understanding of medical terminology and medical imaging insights to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to maintain progress outside of sessions. Document patient responses, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Prior experience in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient hospital units, outpatient clinics, or home health is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to therapy delivery. Ability to work independently on a PRN basis while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
