Occupational Therapy License Full Job Description Benefits:
401(k) 401(k) matching Company parties Flexible schedule Opportunity for advancement Paid time off Training & development About SensAble Kids At SensAble Kids, we support children from infancy through young adulthood with developmental, physical, emotional, and learning needs — both in our clinic and out in the community. We work from a neuroaffirmative, relationship-based model: we follow the child's lead, understand behavior as communication of nervous system state, and believe the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for change. We invest in our team through mentorship, continuing education, and reflective supervision Position Overview We're seeking an experienced, relationship-based Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). This is a flexible, part-time role — a meaningful way to share your clinical wisdom and shape the next layer of our team. The core role is 5-10 hours per week. Because some of the clinicians you'll support work off-site, supervision can be delivered in-clinic, on-site, or remotely to fit both schedules. For the right candidate, there's room to carry a small caseload of your own — ideally 1-2 afternoons/evenings or a weekend block in our clinic. Hours and structure are negotiable. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision to our COTA(s) in accordance with Illinois licensure and practice requirements, ensuring quality of care and continued professional growth. Mentor and develop assistant-level staff through reflective supervision, modeling, co-treatment, and clinical guidance grounded in our relationship-based approach. Review documentation and treatment planning as part of the supervisory relationship, offering feedback that is clear, kind, and growth-oriented. Carry a small caseload (optional / preferred), providing direct OT services 1-2 afternoons or on a weekend in our clinic for the candidate interested in treating as well as supervising. Collaborate with families, clients, and our multidisciplinary team to create and implement effective, individualized treatment plans. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence. Required Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the State of Illinois, in good standing. 5+ years of pediatric experience treating our patient population. Demonstrated handling skills — NDT, MNRI, and/or other bodywork training. Direct experience working with children with sensory processing and regulatory needs is required of all candidates. Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the maturity to mentor and supervise other clinicians. Willing to obtain an Early Intervention (EI) credential if not already credentialed — SensAble Kids will support you through the credentialing process. Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidate already holds Early Intervention (EI) experience and/or birth-to-three experience. Experience treating infants (birth to three), including torticollis, feeding/oral-motor concerns, and "fussy" babies. Both MNRI handling skills and DIR/Floortime® training. Prior experience supervising or mentoring COTAs or assistant-level staff. Interest in carrying a small ongoing caseload alongside the supervisory role. What We Offer A flexible, part-time role you can build around your life — 5-10 hours/week core, with room to grow if you want a caseload. Competitive pay. Continuing education funds, supply allowance, and mileage reimbursement (per current policy). Comprehensive benefits for full time A neuro-affirmative, relationship-based clinical culture where your expertise genuinely shapes how we practice. A fun, playful, and collaborative environment with an open-door policy and a real investment in your professional growth. Flexible work from home options available.
