Full Job Description Job Summary:
Fundamentals of Practice:
Maintains ethical practice in accordance with AOTA standards Adheres to HIPAA regulations and maintains patient confidentiality Under supervision of OT, utilizes Evidence Based Practice to inform clinical decisions Adheres to and applies concepts from the OT Practice Frameworks Demonstrates knowledge of OT Theory Follows all hospital policies and procedures
Screening & Standard Evaluation:
Aware of incoming consultations/assessments; responds to requests within 24 hours Demonstrates service competency in the administration of standard assessments Under supervision of OT, makes appropriate recommendations and communicates to treatment team Accurately documents the evaluation according to Butler Hospital policy
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains ethical practice in accordance with AOTA standards Adheres to HIPAA regulations and maintains patient confidentiality Under supervision of OT, utilizes Evidence Based Practice to inform clinical decisions Adheres to and applies concepts from the OT Practice Frameworks Demonstrates knowledge of OT Theory Follows all hospital policies and procedures Aware of incoming consultations/assessments; responds to requests within 24 hours Demonstrates service competency in the administration of standard assessments Under supervision of OT, makes appropriate recommendations and communicates to treatment team Accurately documents the evaluation according to Butler Hospital policy Obtains patient's occupational profile of baseline roles, routines, and interests Identifies and implements appropriate interventions to address treatment goals Demonstrates diversity and flexibility in group and individual interventions Effectively grades/modifies interventions in response to patient needs Utilizes positive and supportive techniques when working with challenging patients Monitors programming on an ongoing basis and collaborates with OT and unit leadership to implement necessary changes Assists in maintenance of supply closets and unit activity spaces Accurately documents interventions according to Butler Hospital policy Complies with AOTA regulations regarding supervision of interns Provides consistent and appropriate feedback to students and volunteers Maintains collaborative relationship with OT supervisor Attends department meetings and contributes to the growth of the department Seeks out opportunities for relevant continuing education Attends all annual in-service education as required Maintains National Board Certification and Rhode Island State Licensure Consistently provides advanced notification of tardiness/absences Maintains professional relationships with all patients and staff Demonstrates ability to implement effective conflict resolution strategies Serves as a model for strengths-based and patient-centered interactions at all times
Requirements:
Education:
Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Training and Experience:
Experience in Behavioral Health or with a specific age population (geriatrics, pediatrics)
Special Qualifications:
Maintains current state license; excellent communication skills; ability to work with others in a collaborative manner; creative and flexible.
Schedule:
36/72 Full Time Days - Every Other Weekend Delmonico 3C Unit info: This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled
Pay Range:
USD $27.36 - USD $31.47 /
