Job Description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) $40 - $45 per hour
Location:
Myrtle Beach, SC Are you a passionate COTA ready to trade the clinic walls for the freedom of in-home therapy in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina? If so, we'd love for you to join our team! Spoken Word Children's Therapy is a family-led practice with locations in Myrtle Beach and Charleston. With more than 13 years of experience, we deliver personalized therapy in children's homes, daycares, and natural community settings. Voted "Best Therapy Practice" for 2024 and 2025 by HealthLinks Magazine. A favorite perk of being on our team? Key Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Activities:
Lead fun, effective therapy sessions to build fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and self-regulation. Incorporate play-based activities, including time on the porch or in the yard when appropriate.
Customized Care:
Follow and implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Tailor sessions to each child's unique needs and family goals, such as improving play skills, self-care routines (dressing, feeding), pre-handwriting skills, and use of adaptive tools.
Collaborative Care:
Partner closely with parents, caregivers, and daycare staff to integrate therapy goals into daily routines, promoting meaningful carryover and generalization of skills across home, school, and community settings.
Progress Monitoring:
Maintain accurate documentation of sessions, track developmental milestones and progress, share regular updates with the supervising Occupational Therapist, and help adjust treatment approaches to deliver the high-
