Newport, TN 37821 Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team in Newport, TN. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. Responsibilities Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Provide direct patient care by conducting therapeutic activities and exercises. Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques and home exercise programs. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care. Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards related to occupational therapy practice. Qualifications Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Tennessee. Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. CPR certification preferred. Work Environment This position is based in Newport, TN, and involves working in a clinical setting with patients requiring occupational therapy services. The role may require standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
