Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist patients in developing skills for daily living and achieving maximum independence. Your role will be crucial in helping individuals overcome physical, mental, and cognitive challenges to improve their quality of life.Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists. 2. Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' functional abilities. 3. Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, grooming, and eating. 4. Monitor and document patients' progress towards goals. 5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. 6. Educate patients and their families on techniques for improving independence. 7. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. 8. Stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions in occupational therapy.Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program. 2. Certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). 3. State licensure to practice as a COTA. 4. Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy. 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 7. Compassion and empathy towards patients. 8.
