Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY A
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is an individual licensed by the Texas board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with an established physician plan of care and in compliance with applicable licensure/certification requirements, the Texas State Practice Act, and Hunt Memorial Hospital District policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Must maintain continuing education requirements as defined by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. Minimum Work Experience No experience is required. Required Licenses/Certifications Graduate of an approved Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program with evidence of current licensure. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet minimum hiring standards. Preferred Qualification None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to meet the physical demands which include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and transferring; may involve lifting or positioning of patients. Must be able to utilize good judgment, demonstrate patience, and maintain a professional demeanor. Must be able to sustain concentration in a busy and stressful environment. Must work varied hours and schedules. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range; May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. May be exposed to violent or disturbed individuals.
