- Job Summary and Qualifications
- The COTA renders patient care in a safe manner as indicated by individual patient plan, consults with occupational therapist on current patient programs in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice and Texas Practice Act.
- + Provides quality care to patient, based on established POC/Goals + Clinical competency in treating a variety of acute care clients-orthopedic, neurological, integumentary, medical + Proficient in electronic Medical Records documentation + Strong communication skills with internal/external customers + Promotes Teamwork + Embodies HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest philosophy of Customer Service + Exhibits professional behavior •What qualifications you will need:•+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + A minimum of an Associate Degree from an accredited OTA program required + (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas is required + Experience in a rehab setting is preferred; licensed new grads will be considered + Must be able to work weekdays and rotating weekends and holidays •Benefits•HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
