ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide guidance to individuals through stretches, exercises, therapeutic activities and daily living tasks. Follows occupational therapy treatment plans and assists occupational therapists by evaluating individuals' daily living skills, physical abilities and other needs. Performs routine tasks for individuals such as stretches and how to utilize therapy equipment. Provides support, counsel, advice, training and education for individuals, family, caregivers and other professionals on the importance of being consistent with therapy treatment plans. Efficiently assembles extensive documentation on individuals' progress, care services and therapy adjustments, when necessary, that aligns with standard medical documentation and facility protocol/procedures documentation. Collaboratively work with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Must display excellent active listening skills, critical thinking skills, verbal/written communication skills, time management skills. Must display compassion, integrity and respect to all individuals. Supporting additional responsibilities and/or tasks as needed for the department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically, be able to lift, transfer and assist patients while providing therapy interventions during physical activity. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25lbs, including assisting individuals when needed. Ability to visually be able to perform job duties, including examining individuals and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Licenses/Certifications:
Must hold an active and in good standing Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Assistant License and CPR Certification. Follows/adheres to organization, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Client rights Maintains neat, well-groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of organization/program
