  • Part-time, Full-time Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.
In this energetic and rewarding position, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver personalized therapy across a lifespan. Pediatric experience is a preferred. Your expertise will directly impact patient recovery journeys, fostering a supportive and motivating atmosphere that encourages progress and confidence. Duties Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety. Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols and goals. Support patients in therapeutic exercises aimed at improving strength, coordination, and functional abilities. Provide care in diverse settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to the therapy team to optimize care plans. Aid in the development of individualized care plans by collecting relevant patient information and observations. Maintain a safe environment by following infection control procedures and adhering to facility policies. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for understanding patient conditions. Experience assisting with ADLs across various populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and patients in acute care or outpatient settings. Ability to interpret care plans and adapt therapy techniques accordingly to meet patient needs. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach that motivates recovery efforts. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients or caregivers.
