Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our growing eye care team. You will support our optometrists in delivering exceptional patient care by managing medical documentation, conducting preliminary vision tests, and assisting with eye exams.
Responsibilities Assist optometrists in providing high-quality patient care. Perform preliminary eye function testing, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception. Take patient medical histories and accurately document relevant health information. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Administer eye drops or medications as directed by healthcare providers. Perform diagnostic tests, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging. Clean, sterilize, and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment. Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens usage. Qualifications & Skills Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems with fast and accurate typing skills. Strong capability to transcribe medical documentation accurately and maintain organized medical records. Foundational knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and specific ophthalmologic medical terminology. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals.
