  • Full-time Job Overview Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and vision health.
In this vital role, you will assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations, perform diagnostic testing, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to providing exceptional eye care experiences for our diverse patient population. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient intake, including gathering medical history and explaining procedures clearly and confidently Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Perform diagnostic tests like visual acuity assessments, refraction, tonometry, and slit-lamp examinations using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comfort Assist with optical procedures, and performing preliminary assessments for cataracts or glaucoma screenings Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support front desk if needed managing patient flow efficiently Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate seamless clinic operations while demonstrating strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ophthalmology-specific procedures Qualifications Prior experience in medical office settings or ophthalmology clinics is highly preferred but not a requirement. We will train you. Familiarity with optical experience is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. We will train you. Proficiency in using EMR systems or similar platforms for documentation and record keeping. We will train. Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
