Full Job Description Primary Duties:

With exceptional service support the clinic, to meet the needs of patients, doctors and staff. 1. Effectively communicate with patients to complete a work-up or intake. 2. Using NextGen software, document patients' medical history and or scribe for the doctor. 3. Operate ophthalmic equipment including, but not limited to: autorefractors, topography, tono-pen, visual field, visual acuity, Pachy, OCT, lensometer and A-scan. 4. Measure distance and near visual acuity using appropriate tests. 5. Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications. 6. Maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment, clean after use and follow end-of-day procedures. 7. Maintain room supplies, stock brochures, regularly check expiration dates on medications. 8. Triage patients for appointments. 9. Stamping charts. 10. Assisting the doctor with procedures including suture removal. 11. Able to utilize our phone system and communicate in quality English (and Spanish) language. 12. Able to utilize our computer system to enable scheduling of the patient and updating medical records. 13. Able to understand medical terminology related to job duties. 14. Quality understanding of services offered by Eye Medical Center to enable the triage/scheduling of patients. 15. Basic understanding of health insurance that enable scheduling the patient for medical service. 16. Other job duties as assigned.
