We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician (at any skill level) to join our Clinic Team! It is the primary job of the Ophthalmic Technician to perform medical assistance and data collection as delegated by the doctor to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patients' conditions. This is done by providing preliminary eye function tests, performing diagnostic measurements and tests, managing patient interactions, and ensuring efficient clinic operations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Acquaints all patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed Informs patients of the purpose of all tests performed, and how they will be affected Scribes for the doctors as part of their daily assignments Performs visual acuity, manual lensometry, confrontational visual fields, stereo testing, evaluation of motility, pupillary function tests, color plates, applanation tonometry, fundus photography, other tasks specific to physician needs Performs administrative duties which include keeping exposed lenses, mirrors and prisms clean, maintaining sanitary conditions in diagnostic and procedure rooms as well as keeping them stocked, and maintaining par levels of replacement inventory Performs additional duties based on skill level of Ophthalmic Technician
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday (may work occasional half Saturdays)

Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of medical office practices and medical terminology Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to be personable, empathetic, well-organized, and detail-oriented Familiar with medications and ocular disease processes (preferred)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/GED Experience with EHR, specifically NextGen (preferred) Medical assistant training/certification (preferred) 2-years related eye care experience (preferred) Scribing experience (preferred) Current JCAHPO certification (preferred) Current BLS certification (preferred)
