Full-Time | 37.5
Hours Per Week Schedule:
Must be available to start as early as 7:45 AM for opening shifts and stay as late as 5:45 PM for closing shifts.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician (3+ years preferred). Current, hands-on experience in ophthalmology back-office operations (not outdated). Ophthalmology back-office expertise, including technical proficiency with diagnostic equipment and EHR documentation.
Preferred:
COA, COT, or similar certification (not required but highly valued).
Ideal Candidate:
A polished professional with a passion for patient care. Motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented. Exceptional communication and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Back Office Opening Duties:
Set up and prepare exam rooms and clinical equipment for patient appointments. Address and follow up on any outstanding paperwork, messages, or voicemails from the prior workday. Ensure exam rooms and back-office areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked at the start of the day.
Patient Exams & General Back-Office Duties:
Conduct patient work-ups, pre-tests, and escort patients into exam rooms to facilitate smooth workflow. Accurately document patient health information into the EHR system in real time, adhering to company protocols. Operate and maintain proficiency on diagnostic equipment, including
OCT, IOL
Master, Visual Field machine, and Pentacam. Manage prescription pre-authorizations and assist with medication refills. Address patient calls regarding medical eye emergencies, clinical inquiries, or scheduling needs in coordination with doctors. Assist in creating a seamless patient experience by reducing wait times and ensuring optimal flow between front office and back office. Coordinate patient care, including scheduling in-office procedures, follow-up visits, or obtaining authorizations for services.
Pre-Surgical Preparation:
Maintain accurate cataract and laser surgery schedules while ensuring all patient and documentation details are accounted for. Verify that surgery schedules align with clinic appointments and inform the front office of off-site surgeries. Prepare and manage pre-op forms, consents, instructions, and post-op kits for patients. Review all pre-op instructions and consent forms with patients, ensuring understanding before obtaining signatures. Communicate surgical orders and patient details with the surgery center and document everything thoroughly in patient EHR. Obtain all necessary approvals and authorizations for surgical procedures.
In-Office Minor Procedures:
Prepare patients for minor surgical procedures, including reviewing pre- and post-op instructions. Obtain patient consent after detailed explanation and approval by the doctor. Set up minor procedure rooms and sterilize instruments after use, following strict protocols. Assist doctors during minor surgical procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide clerical support to the front office team when needed. Maintain compliance with
