Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic eye care office as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and vision health. In this vital role, you will assist the ophthalmologist and optometrist with patient evaluations, perform diagnostic testing, and support clinical operations to ensure a seamless experience for every patient. Responsibilities Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history, verifying insurance information, and explaining procedures clearly and confidently. Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, autorefractions, keratometry, pachymetry, biometry, corneal topographies, visual fields, ophthalmic photography and OCTs. Assist ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and maintained according to infection control standards. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols related to ophthalmic equipment and sterile techniques. Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions about procedures, ensuring comfort, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for diverse patient populations of all ages. Qualifications • Minimum 3 years experience as an ophthalmic technician, COT preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ophthalmic procedures to support accurate testing and patient education. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
