Ophthalmic Technician

-Obtain and record accurate patient history, chief complaints and scribe findings for Physicians

• Performs lensometry and auto refractions
• Perform diagnostic testing such as but not limited to

HVF, OCT, IOL

Master, Fundus photography, ORB scans, Wave scans

• Obtain accurate visual acuities
• Perform accurate refractions
• Demonstrates ability to perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, BAT testing, Amsler grid testing.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications
• Perform accurate tonometry by applanation
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments
• Verbalize pre and post-operative instructions in a clear and professional manner to patients for any procedures performed
• -Understand basic pharmacology: medication names and their use
• Communicates with patients directly or via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs
• Communicates with pharmacies and/ or referring doctor's office via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience
