Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician / Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in patients' vision and eye health. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional front desk support while assisting with clinical procedures that ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, streamline daily operations, and support the delivery of high-quality eyecare services. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Office Mate. Conduct patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories, updating personal data, and explaining procedures clearly. Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing pre-tests. Assist with clinical procedures using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during eye exams or minor treatments. Manage medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Handle front desk responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and managing insurance verifications. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment while adhering to safety protocols related to ophthalmology and medical records management. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred however, not a requirement. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Office Mate or similar platforms is preferred for efficient patient data management. Experience with HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information. Knowledge of medical billing and coding practices related to ophthalmology can be advantageous but is not mandatory. Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are key for success in this role. Pay:
