We are an optometry practice in Oceanside, Ca and are now hiring a new full time medical assistant/optometric technician. This is a key position that is crucial to the success of the office as all patients come in contact with the technician. We are looking for someone with high energy and a warm personality to 'wow' every patient. We do this by making each and every person in our office feel individually important and cared for while performing medical testing efficiently for the doctor. Attention to detail and a desire to get things done right the first time will help the ideal candidate succeed in this role.
Responsibilities :
  • The chief responsibility in this role is performing entrance medical testing on patients such as autorefraction, IOP checks, fundus photography and more. We are willing to train all these skills, prior experience is appreciated but not required.
  • Time management skills are critical as this team member helps keep the doctor on schedule by actively monitoring appointment times and ushering patients in and out of testing quickly.
  • Scheduling appointments by answering phone calls and looking for ways to help fill the appointment book
  • Checking in glasses and contact lens orders in between patients
  • Helping to fit, adjust and sell glasses when needed.
  • Assisting the office in any other ways required to facilitate smooth daily operations
Qualifications :
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English speaking is preferred
  • A fun, outgoing personality that loves working with people
  • Some experience in any customer service field
