Job Description

Join a Friendly, Fast-Paced Optometry Team Optometry Center of Pleasanton (located inside Costco Pleasanton) Are you interested in healthcare, patient care, or gaining hands-on clinical experience? We're looking for a reliable, personable, and motivated Part-Time or Full-Time Optometry Assistant to join our growing office. This is a great opportunity for: Pre-health or pre-med students Medical assistants looking to expand their skills Anyone interested in healthcare and patient interaction Previous experience in Optometry is a plus but not mandatory No optometry experience? No problem — we're happy to train the right person. What You'll Love About This Role Hands-on experience in a medical setting Learn advanced eye care technology and patient testing Work closely with doctors and patients Friendly, supportive team environment Opportunity to grow into increased responsibilities over time Schedule 2-5 days per week 4-8 hour shifts Flexible scheduling available Must be available for 2 Saturdays/month What We're Looking For You're someone who: Enjoys helping people and creating a positive patient experience Learns quickly and stays calm in a fast-paced environment Is dependable, organized, and proactive Can multitask without needing constant supervision Is comfortable with computers and technology: G-Suite, Excel and Gmail Types efficiently and can troubleshoot small tech issues independently Has a positive attitude and strong communication skills, works well with others Preferred Experience (Not Required) Previous medical office or healthcare experience Front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience Familiarity with working in a team-based environment Responsibilities Welcome and assist patients throughout their visit Perform pre-testing before the doctor exam Use equipment including: Autorefractor Lensometer Optos digital retinal imaging Assist with analyzing glasses prescriptions Answer phones and schedule appointments Help maintain office cleanliness and organization Restock contact lens trials and office supplies Assist with light technical troubleshooting as needed Why Join Us?
