  • $24 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Qualifications Medical documentation Optical experience Scanning Medical scheduling Attention to detail Full Job Description We are a busy optometry practice in San Leandro.
Candidates must be friendly and enthusiastic, punctual, caring, detail oriented, possess the ability to multitask, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Working hours will vary. We are looking for part-time for now, Saturdays and Sundays mandatory at this time, but may also lead to additional days in the future. We provide set schedules, but may ask for additional hours to cover for vacations or ill staff. This is coordinated based on your and other staff availability. Monday thru Friday 8:30
  • 5:30 and 9:30
  • 6:30 shifts Saturday and Sunday 8:30
  • 5:30 RESPONSIBILITIES Greet patients and answer phones in a friendly manner Schedule and confirm appointments, coordinate patient recalls Operate preliminary testing instruments Verify insurance eligibility and complete insurance claim forms Provide training for first time contact lens patients Proficiently use computer, word processor, spreadsheet, calendar, chat, and medical billing software File, organize, and scan medical records and correspondence General cleaning and restocking Verify prescriptions by phone and fax Take payments and bill insurance Sterilize instruments and properly dispose of contaminated supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
On the job training provided, but 1 year experience in optometric or medical office preferred Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks Thrive in a high volume environment Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proficiency in Word Document, Excel, and general computer skills (particularly Mac) Strong interpersonal skills Second language skills preferred, especially Spanish and Chinese Professional appearance and personal integrity
