In this role, you will support the optometrist in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of clinical knowledge and customer service skills, making them an integral part of our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Performing OCT, Optos, Visual Field, and other pre-exam tests.
- Sending drug prescriptions to pharmacies via e-prescribe and being in communication with pharmacies and patients regarding their medications.
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and adheres to aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and clinic efficiency. Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinic operations and patient care protocols.
- Experience in sales or retail sales, particularly in an optical setting, is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and managing medical records.
- Basic understanding of anatomy related to eye health is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records Systems, preferably Crystal Practice Management.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with patients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information.
