Assist providers and clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and other aspects of direct patient care. Perform ophthalmologic tests, including visual acuity, applanation tonometry, pachymetry, visual fields, corneal topography, OCTs, lensometry, and other diagnostic tests as directed within the clinic's established timelines. Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories, including chief complaint, past ocular and medical history, family history, allergies, and medications, ensuring accuracy in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Prepare patients for procedures and assist with pre- and post-operative counseling, procedure setup, and in-office procedures. Support daily clinic operations, including shift opening and closing procedures, responding to patient phone calls promptly and professionally, and coordinating provider-ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, including sterilizing equipment, stocking supplies, and calibrating diagnostic equipment according to manufacturer guidelines. Ensure compliance with departmental policies, organizational objectives, OSHA regulations, and environmental and infection control standards. Experience:
1 year applicable experience preferred Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations License(s): N/A Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS) required One of the following is preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (COMT) Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.Education:
