Position:
As a Lead Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in shaping clinical operations, supporting our providers and teams, and driving excellence across the organization. This position works closely with pod leaders and technicians, serving as a key resource for mentorship, problem-solving, and day-to-day clinic success. This is a dynamic and highly impactful role that blends advanced clinical expertise with hands-on leadership. You will help oversee clinic flow, support multiple providers and pods, and step in wherever needed to ensure a seamless patient and team experience. Practice Administrator What You'll Do:
In this role, you will serve as a clinical leader across the organization—supporting patient care, strengthening teams, and driving operational excellence across pods and providers. Support clinic flow across providers and pods, ensuring efficiency, quality, and an exceptional patient experience Step into technician or scribe responsibilities as needed to support team coverage and continuity of care Perform comprehensive patient workups and assist with clinical care when needed Serve as a highly skilled clinical resource across all areas of the practice
Leadership & Operational Impact:
Coach, mentor, and support Pod Leaders and technicians in their clinical and professional development Serve as a key partner to leadership, contributing insights, feedback, and support for process improvements and growth initiatives Assist in onboarding and training across teams to ensure consistency and high standards of care Support coordination across departments, including surgery scheduling, surgical logs, and patient education workflows Collaborate closely with the surgery center and scheduling teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and communication Help identify gaps, solve problems in real-time, and maintain strong clinic operations across all locations Build deep expertise across MHEI workflows, systems, and clinical standards to serve as a go-to resource Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, safety, and organizational protocols

Qualifications:
Ophthalmology experience required Previous technician experience required Prior leadership experience required Bilingual is preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Not Required, but helpful. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC)
Work Location:
The primary location will be at our Sheridan location. Our team will occasionally travel to satellite locations as needed.
Work Hours:
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday. We need someone with 5 day a week availability, with the ability to work 38-40 hours per week.
Compensation:
$28/hr-$36/hr+ DOE (previous technician/scribe experience and Ophthalmology experience is required). The lower end of the range reflects candidates newer to leadership within ophthalmology. The higher end reflects COA/COT candidates with significant leadership experience. COMT candidates or those with extensive clinical leadership experience may be considered above the listed range.
