We're looking for a passionate and style-savvy Optical Technician to join our optical boutique! If you love fashion, enjoy helping people, and have an eye for detail, this is the perfect opportunity. In this role, you'll work with multiple premium eyewear brands, assist customers in finding frames that match their unique style, and guide them toward the best lens technology to enhance both vision and comfort. You'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience making sure every client leaves feeling confident and looking great. The Eyewear Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, primarily responsible for assisting in the fitting and adjustment of eyewear and optical devices. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care while adhering to all relevant regulations and standards. Duties
  • Assist patients with selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences that is appropriate for patient's needs.
  • Educating patients on the different lenses and lens features we offer, explaining the difference between them, guiding the patient to what we would best for their pair of glasses and lens.
  • Perform adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
  • Informing patients of warranties that we offer for certain products.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Going over our policies with the patient and signing the appropriate documents during optical order.
  • Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Support medical billing processes by ensuring all services are documented accurately.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to provide a seamless experience for patients, including those in pediatrics.
  • Implement aseptic techniques when necessary to maintain a safe environment.
  • Engage in sales activities related to optical products while providing knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Informing patients of warranties that we offer for certain products
  • Notifying patients when their glasses are ready for pick up
  • Dispensing glasses to patients, having patients sign pick up form
  • Keeping optical tidy, frames in their correct places, clean mirrors, cleaning glasses, etc.
  • Adjusting patients frames

  • Taking patients PD and segment height measurements Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Compulink.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to optical care.
  • Familiarity with clinic operations and procedures.
  • Ability to apply aseptic techniques in various situations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required.
  • Background in medical billing is advantageous for managing patient accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
