Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Ophthalmic Scribe to support our retina specialists by accurately documenting patient encounters and managing medical records. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical documentation skills, a solid understanding of ophthalmic terminology, and experience working within electronic health record (EHR) systems. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in ophthalmology while contributing to high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Accurately transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, ensuring completeness and clarity. Assist physicians by documenting patient histories, examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans in real-time. Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR) and EHR systems with precision and confidentiality. Maintain thorough understanding of ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support accurate documentation. Facilitate communication between patients and providers by recording relevant information efficiently. Support the clinical team during procedures by preparing documentation and ensuring all records are current. Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and uphold the highest standards of medical record management. Requirements Proven experience in transcription, medical office administration, or a related healthcare role. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in ophthalmology or general medical practices. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic medical terminology. Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience working in an emergency room or fast-paced clinical environment is advantageous. Background in medical documentation or medical records management preferred. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
