JOB DESCRIPTION.
Full Eye Care Facility located in Tamarac, FL looking for an Ophthalmic Technician that can speak both English and Spanish fluently (at least intermediate). Full time, permanent position Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.Job descriptions includes:
- Experience working with EMR system.
- Obtains and records accurate patient history, chief complaint and scribes physician findings.
- Work up patients by taking visual acuity, pupil check, ocular pressure, refraction and other tests.
- Demonstrates ability to perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, Stereo testing, BAT testing, Schirmer tests, Amsler grid tests and other tests.
- Administers topical ophthalmic medications.
- Performs lensometry and refraction.
- Perform Diagnostic Tests using Visual Field, OCT, Lensmeter, Fundus Photos, Corneal Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, A-Scan, B-Scan, Lensmeter, etc.
- Assist ophthalmologist with laser and other in-office surgical procedures.
- Understands basic ocular pharmacology: names of meds and their uses.
- Schedules patients for surgery.
- Orders Contact Lenses.
- Handles Pharmacy Calls.
