Job Description

Job Overview At Eye Haven Boutique we are looking for a team of friendly, caring, and energetic people that put the needs of the patient first. We believe in caring for the people of our community and providing the highest quality Optometric care possible. The job of an Optometric technician will include taking a thorough patient history, pretesting and directing patient flow. Prior experience of administering special testing including visual field, OCT, fundus photography, and pachymetry are helpful but not required. The ideal candidate will have experience or an interest in the healthcare field with a positive attitude toward learning new skills. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with activities including but not limited to the following: Gather patient's medical, social, and family history Pre-test patients before they see the optometrist including but not limited to: visual acuities, color vision, stereo acuity, autorefractor, NCT or other tonometry Scribing as needed during patient examinations administration of diagnostic tests including fundus photography, visual fields, and OCTs Communicating with doctors, staff, and patients in a friendly and productive way Educate patients on their insurance coverage and vision benefits Train patients on proper contact lens insertion and removal Be knowledgeable on proper contact lens wear, replacement schedules, and overall lens care Answer phone calls, greet patients, and schedule appointments Obtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefits Assist other members of the team as needed to reach individual and team goals At Eye Haven Boutique we strive to work as a team. High school or equivalent (Required) Benefits offered: Paid time off, employee discount, reimbursement for training / certification Employee discounts The candidate must be willing to work Mon- Thurs 8:15- 5:45.
