Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will directly enhance patient experiences and support our eye care professionals. In this vital role, you will assist with patient care, perform preliminary testing, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach will help deliver exceptional vision care while maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for all patients. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in ophthalmology and medical office procedures within a vibrant, patient-centered setting. Duties includes but not limited to the following: Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records. Prepare patients for eye exams by performing preliminary tests. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Assist clinicians during eye examinations by setting up equipment, sterilizing tools using aseptic techniques, and managing medical records electronically through EMR systems. Support optical operations by helping patients select eyewear and processing retail sales accurately . Train new contact lens wearers on insertion and removal of contact lenses. Requirements Prior experience in a medical office or optometic clinic is highly preferred .However, we are happy to train any candidate with the zeal and positive attitude to work. Effective communication skills for front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and assisting with retail sales transactions. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security are maintained at all times. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment that may include pediatrics or diverse patient populations; retail sales experience is a bonus for supporting eyewear sales initiatives.
