Ophthalmic Technician + Front Desk

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and assisting ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office operations, patient interaction, and a keen understanding of ocular physiology. Duties Assist Ophthalmologists/Optometrists with patient examinations by preparing patients and equipment for various tests. Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and retinal imaging. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients about procedures, treatments, and post-examination care. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination area while adhering to aseptic techniques. Collaborate with team members to improve patient flow and overall clinic efficiency. Front desk - check in, check out, collect payments, scheduling, etc. (cross trained) Skills Strong knowledge of physiology related to the eye and vision. Proficiency in medical office systems and electronic health records (EHR). Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
