$19.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist doctors in providing high-quality eye care by performing various clinical tasks and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of optometry and ophthalmology, medical terminology, and patient care practices. Duties Conduct preliminary testing, including visual acuity tests, OCT, photography and tonometry. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare patients for examination by reviewing their medical history and current medications. Educate patients about eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for use. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Handle medical coding for procedures performed during patient visits. Skills Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to eye care. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures. Understanding of medical terminology and coding systems. Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in an ophthalmology or optical environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A tech with refracting experience is highly desirable, but we will train the right candidate. No evenings or weekends, 3 weeks PTO, all new equipment, health, dental, vision benefits offered. Nice office environment with well trained staff.
