The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective daily flow of patients, by pre-testing patients and scribing for doctors. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming and efficient environment while maintaining patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has a minimum one year experience as an optometric / ophthalmic technician, genuinely enjoys engaging in conversations with adults and children, has the ability to connect with patients, provides exceptional care, and builds strong relationships with not only our families, but with team members. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Office Hours:
Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Closed all major holidays. No evenings or weekends.Essential Duties Include:
Optometric Technician:
Completing patient pre-testing, performing entrance testing for specialized assessments, dry eye testing and treatment, scribing for doctors, teaching insertion and removal of contact lenses, cleaning and stocking patient care areas. Front Desk Support (during overflow periods): To help doctors run on time and support efficient patient flow, assist in greeting parents and patients, checking patients into their appointments, scheduling appointments, posting fees to the patient ledger, collecting patient amount due at time of service, checking patients out of their appointments. Experience /Skills:
1 year of experience working as an optometric / ophthalmic technician required Working knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA Experience utilizing EHR/EMR system required Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of patients Strong organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailJob Type:
