Optometric Technician/ Optometric Assistant

Family oriented Optometry office seeking to find a candidate who is a fast learner and can be part of our exciting team. This individual will be responsible for patient flow through the office with emphasis on routine tasks. Our practice is devoted to providing medical eye exams, specialty contact lenses, glasses, contact lenses so a friendly, upbeat and outgoing personality is a must . Routine tasks include, but are not limited to; pre-testing patients, frame selection, answering phones, understanding Officemate software and insurance duties.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

Setting appointments Assist with patient check-in and check-out Perform preliminary testing before eye exams Fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses Educate and assist patient in selection of frames and lenses. Filing Insurance claims Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and optical displays Handle basic administrative and front desk duties

Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is preferred Knowledge of optometry practices, optical procedures, and medical coding or billing is a plus Familiarity with EMR systems such as OfficeMate, ExamWriter or similar platforms is highly desirable Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health Experience in retail sales or front desk roles can be beneficial for managing patient interactions effectively Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm in a fast-paced setting Local candidates only please, must live within 30 minutes of our location in Addison, IL 60101
