Full-Time |Floating Position Schedule:
Monday-Friday Saturdays as needed Must be willing to travel between office locations as needed (Highland Park, Hoffman Estates, and additional locations)Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work up patients including complete histories with accurate documentation in EMR (Nextech) Perform ophthalmic testing including: Manual refraction & visual acuity Tonometry (Icare / Tono-Vera / applanation) Pachymetry Visual fields Corneal topography / Pentacam OCT, fundus photography, specular microscopy, Lenstar Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and in-office treatments Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and assist with pre-op and post-op counseling Assist with minor treatments, corneal cross-linking, and refractive surgery (training provided if interested) Triage patient phone calls, faxes, and assist with prior authorizations Clean, calibrate, and maintain equipment per OSHA and infection-control standards Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and functional Assist providers and staff as needed and complete opening/closing dutiesQualifications:
Prior ophthalmic or medical assisting experience preferred; will train the right candidate COA/COT certification a plus but not required Experience with Nextech EMR a plus Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between office locations Why Join Chicago Cornea Consultants?
