Our doctors also serve as professors at the Illinois College of Optometry, reflecting our strong clinical expertise and dedication to excellence. Position Overview:
We are looking for a full-term employee who is open to developing a lasting career here with our practice. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team. As an Optometry Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our optometrists and ensuring our patients receive the highest quality eye care. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and professional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct preliminary eye exams, including gathering patient history and performing diagnostic tests. Assist optometrists during eye exams and procedures. Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens use. Perform accurate documentation and maintain patient records. Prepare examination rooms and equipment for appointments. Provide support with front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and handling telephone inquiries. Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. (Training will be provided). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (EHR). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
