We are rapidly growing and we want you to join our great team! We are looking to fill two Optician/Optical Technician roles in our Naperville and Downers Grove locations. Also known as Opticians, Personal Technicians or Optometric Technicians. This role comes with the potential to be a hybrid role that may include cross training in both the optical and optometric technician department. At least 1 year experience is required. Only Full-time positions are available at this time. (35-40hrs per week) Naper Grove Vision Care is seeking candidates with a passion for delivering results through providing a genuine patient experience. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are willing to learn more about patient care. Our goal is to provide patients with the care they need, while helping them understand the importance of eye and vision health. Our mission through this relationship is to enhance the overall customer experience with exceptional eye care and eyewear.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides patient care in the optometric office setting. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as a primary liaison between patients, families, staff and providers.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Works both autonomously and collaboratively: Communicates with clinical, clerical and billing departments, providers, patients and families to ensure continuity of care. Communication skills (both written and verbal) suitable to express the physical, mental and emotional status of patients and families. Accurately completes and maintains medical records and documents. Performs telephone triage utilizing approved protocols. Demonstrates acceptable time management techniques during pre-testing. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Duties include frame/lens selection, contact lens ordering, glasses inspection/repair, pretesting, patient intake, etc. Maintains optical lab, exam rooms and pre-testing area. Prepares, stocks and cleans rooms as well as maintains supplies and equipment for treatment. Attends staff meetings as scheduled. Maintains skills and knowledge base through training and other structured in-services.

OFFICE HOURS
Monday - Thursday 8:30am-7:00pm, Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-2:00pm QUALIFICATIONS and
REQUIRED ABILITIES
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1 year Optometry office experience is preferred. Possess good customer service skills and exceptional telephone etiquette. Ability to adapt to various work assignments. Ability to work with non-cooperative patients, patients with psychosocial problems and needs, or chronic and acute health problems. All staff are expected to dress in employer provided, black scrubs and maintain a high level of courtesy and professionalism with customers. Must be able to work in both office locations.
