Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician and become a vital part of delivering exceptional eye care services! Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical history, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records using EMR systems such as Epic. Measure visual acuity to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare patients for eye exams by performing preliminary testing such as refraction, color vision testing, and intraocular pressure measurements. Support optometrists during examinations by handling equipment setup, maintaining sterile environments, and documenting findings accurately. Manage medical records with precision, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times. Conduct optical assessments including lens measurements and frame fitting to enhance patient satisfaction in retail settings. Assist front desk staff with scheduling appointments, processing payments, and retail sales of eyewear products while applying retail math principles. Experience Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to the eye, and ophthalmic procedures is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems Experience with medical coding and billing processes ensures smooth insurance claims processing. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient privacy and data security. Retail sales experience combined with excellent customer service skills will help foster positive patient interactions. Previous work involving pediatrics or clinic experience is a plus for engaging diverse patient populations.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
