Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our ophthalmologists and optometrists with patient care, diagnostic testing, and clinic flow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in a wide range of ophthalmic procedures, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Take detailed patient histories and document chief complaints. Perform diagnostic testing, including: Visual acuity and refraction checks Tonometry (applanation and non-contact) OCT, visual fields, fundus photography Keratometry, topography, and A/B-scan ultrasonography Administer eye drops and medications as directed. Prepare patients for exams and assist during procedures. Accurately chart in electronic medical records (EMR). Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care. Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments and ensure exam rooms are stocked and clean. Support clinic efficiency and patient flow throughout the day.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician. Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) is a plus but not required. Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., NextGen, Epic, Compulink). Strong understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and terminology. Excellent communication and patient service skills. Strong listening skills Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
