Job Description
- Job Summary
- As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the optometrist in providing quality eye care services to patients. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient operations within the optometry practice.
- Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary tests on patients such as visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and eye muscle movements
- Utilize ophthalmic equipment to conduct diagnostic tests and imaging procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records by documenting medical histories and test results
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide guidance on proper contact lens care
- Manage inventory of ophthalmic supplies and assist with ordering when necessary
- Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments
- Utilize knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes
- Provide support in educating patients on eyewear options and retail sales
- Qualifications
- Proficiency in ophthalmic systems and equipment operation
- Experience in front desk duties within a medical or retail setting
- Familiarity with medical records management and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Basic knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and eye diseases
- Strong understanding of retail math principles for sales transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Certification in medical coding is a plus
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$12.00- $14.
