Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist the optometrists by preparing patients for exams, conducting preliminary tests, and managing medical records with precision. Your proactive approach will ensure a smooth clinic flow, foster positive patient interactions, and uphold the highest standards of safety and confidentiality. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills in eye care, medical terminology, and clinic procedures within a supportive environment dedicated to excellence. Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage intake processes, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information. Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary testing like visual acuity assessments, refraction measurements, and ocular motility checks. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality (HIPAA compliance), and proper documentation of all patient interactions. Educate patients on pre- and post-exam instructions, including contact lens care and medication usage. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, processing payments, and helping patients keep consistent eye care in their lives. Skills Strong understanding of patient care principles combined with excellent communication skills to create a welcoming environment. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Familiarity with optical equipment, optometric procedures. Willingness to learn and put those lessons into action with patients. Experience in front desk operations in a healthcare or retail setting is advantageous. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
