Medical Technician Location:
Opelousas, LA Pay Rate:
$16.50 per hour
Schedule:

Requirements:
Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Healthcare Technician Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, and clinical documentation practices Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical data entry Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work directly with physicians and patients in a clinical environment Comfortable performing diagnostic testing and handling patient interactions Willingness to learn ophthalmology procedures and participate in on-the-job training Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy medical practice
Job Duties:
Provide direct patient care and support in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic. Perform patient intake, ocular screenings, visual field testing, and medical history collection. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures. Accurately document patient encounters and physician notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Monitor and administer visual field tests to evaluate peripheral vision. Prepare examination rooms, supplies, medications, consent forms, and patient education materials. Coordinate diagnostic testing, specialty procedures, and surgical scheduling activities. Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards. Type and maintain operative reports, patient records, and clinical documentation. Support efficient patient flow while delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
