Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care. In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will assist ophthalmologist with patient examinations, perform diagnostic tests, and manage medical records to ensure smooth clinic operations. Duties Prepare patients for eye examinations by obtaining medical histories and explaining procedures clearly Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, slit-lamp examinations, visual fields, OCT, and fundus photos. Assist ophthalmologists during exams and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are ready Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems), accurately documenting patient information, test results, and treatment plans Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times Support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and processing medical coding for billing purposes Educate patients on post-examination care, medication instructions, and follow-up appointments to promote ongoing eye health Requirements Prior experience working in a medical office setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry Proficiency with EMR systems such as EyeMD or similar platforms for documentation and record management Efficient in typing: 40-60 words per minute. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology, anatomy, and physiology of the eye Familiarity with optical equipment and experience performing diagnostic tests in an ophthalmic setting Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members Ability to learn quickly, follow detailed instructions, and adapt to evolving clinic proceduresThis role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about eye health who thrive in a collaborative environment. Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
