Technician (Ophthalmology) Shreveport, LA Job Details Full-time 4 days ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Health screenings Direct patient care Medical equipment operation Ophthalmology High school diploma or GED Care coordination Health education and counseling Entry level Full Job Description Willis Knighton is seeking an Ophthalmology Tech to join our team on the south campus. The tech will coordinate and provide care to patients in the physician's office under the direction and supervision of the clinic physician, participate in patient and family teaching, work cooperatively with other health care members and maintain standards for professional growth and development. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: responsible for the operation of all equipment; responsible for performing accurate vision screenings; test the patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception; test patients' field of vision, including central and peripheral vision for defects; examine eye using slit lamp, for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers; and provide information to the patient/family regarding their disease process, diagnostic procedures, and/or surgery. To be considered for this position, the candidate must be a graduate of an accredited high school, must be working toward an ophthalmology technician certification, and previous ophthalmology experience or some experience in a related field is preferred.
