Ophthalmic Assistant D'Ambrosio Eye Care - 2.9 Lancaster, MA Job Details Full-time $18 - $26 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Photography Medical documentation Patient assessment Attention to detail Patient interaction Full Job Description This is a great entry level opportunity with no experience required if you would like to start your career in medical assisting. We will train you and guide you towards becoming a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant where you assist Optometrists and Ophthalmologists by gathering patient information necessary to complete an eye exam. Ophthalmic Assistants see the patient before the doctor, are responsible for preparing the patient for the exam, and beginning the examination with standard tests and measurements. Successful candidates must be outgoing, pleasant, detail oriented, and prefer to work in a very busy environment. You must be able to work at any of our 5 locations (Lancaster, Gardner, Athol, Acton, Worcester). Position is year round (not summer), Mon-Fri 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Interact with all patients using respect and professionalism. Obtain patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications. Testing to include Visual Field, OCT, Topography, Photography. Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks including: Visual Acuity Confrontational Visual Fields Stereo testing Evaluation of Motility Pupillary Function Tests Color Plates Manual Lensometry Applanation Tonometry Tear break-up time Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician, altering the sequence as required. Open and close exam lanes daily. Works towards COA certification.
